Love Your Skin

Why we choose to formulate oil-based skin oils, versus water-based skin oil products.

With water based products, there has to be a way to prevent the product from becoming moldy.

That avenue involves using a synthetic preservative.

Our products are created with organic, all natural ingredients from this beautiful planet; and using a synthetic preservative does not resonate with the natural flow of our formulas.

There are natural alternatives to synthetic preservatives; as of now, I have not done enough research on the effects those alternatives have on beauty formulas.

So for now, we will continue with our oil based product skincare line; as well as keeping an open mind to the process of formulating water based skincare in the future. 🌿

In the meantime, when using any oil based product on your skin, it’s helpful to know that when water and oil are applied to skin in tandem, they work together - deeply hydrating and nourishing the skin.

The key is in the layering process: Applying water to your skin first, or even aloe vera, or a hydrosol, followed by an oil-based product, helps ensure that the oil penetrates deeply into the skin, and moisture is sealed in.

This creates an optimal environment for the skin to repair itself, regenerate, and maintain its natural balance.

By sealing the skin while it is still damp, you trap that external water into the barrier, creating a hydration reservoir that keeps the skin plump for 4 - 8 hours, compared to only 2 - 4 hours on dry skin.

Enhanced Spreadability: Oil glides more easily on damp skin, meaning you can achieve full coverage with less product.

Reduced Greasiness: Applying oil to a wet surface leaves the skin feeling soft and velvety rather than heavy or greasy.

Recommended Application Steps:

Warm a few drops of oil between palms or finger tips first to and then press the oil into the damp skin.

Wait a few minutes for the oil to fully absorb before applying makeup or getting dressed. 🌸
